(Mailing List Information, including unsubscription instructions are located at the end of this message) Trailworkers This weekend marks the beginning of one trailwork season, and the ending of another. Saturday, May 7 is the first day of our season in El Corte de Madera Open Space Preserve. Many of our favorite miles of trails have been closed all Winter, and it is time to open them up and get them prepared for a full Summer of outdoor adventure. We are starting with the Crossover Trail, also known as Hike-A-Bike, and completing its new stretch from Timberview to Gordon Mill. Shoot Paul an email at volunteer@openspace.org to let him know you will be coming. Space is limited to 12 workers, and if we fill sell out, we may be able to open it that day. Meeting at 9:30, working until 3:30, then beer is likely to flow at Alice's. On Sunday, May 8 we celebrate Mother's Day by lavishing a little extra attention on our Mother Earth in the Soquel Demonstration State Forest. Our project for the day will be the section of Ridge Trail between Tractor and Saw Pit we rerouted the year before last. At that time, we turned the fall line steeps into a flowy section of turns and drops and it has reached maturity. Where we can now see the trail is routed too close to a leaning tree, or a turn has a bad radius, we will go back a finesse a few things. Some will hike in from the bottom of Tractor, and others will be riding in, towing the tool trailers. We are meeting for this one at 8:30, and adjourning at 1:30 so we can do something with all of our other Moms. Ping me with a reply, or just go to http://www.trailworkers.com and sign up. This will be out last volunteer work day in the Demo until Thanksgiving or so. Thanks to all of you that have helped donate over 500 hours in the Forest this year. As for the rest of you, you should be ashamed. See you Sunday :) Charles
