(Mailing List Information, including unsubscription instructions are located at the end of this message) Trailworkers, Sunday, May 22nd is the last trailwork opportunity in the Soquel Demonstration State Forest until next fall. There are several improvements in the ridge trail that need to be completed prior to the busy summer riding season and, as this is our last chance to complete that work, your participation would have a huge impact. We are meeting at the parking lot on Highland, across the steel bridge at 8:30 AM on Sunday, May 22nd. Our objective for the day is to bench in a new trail segment and rework some the previously constructed trail sections on the Ridge Trail. Depending on conditions, because of the location of the work site, trailworkers may find it most efficient to ride to the trailwork site. Bring your bike if you want to ride. Bob trailers will be provided. If weather conditions are not conducive to riding into the forest, we will shuttle workers from the parking lot to the bottom of Tractor Trail; workers will then hike in to the work site. You should bring long pants and sleeves, plenty of water, and lunch or a snack you can carry with you on the trail, and hiking shoes/boots. I will bring work gloves to loan if you have none. If you are planning on riding into the site, bring ride gear. The Stewards of Soquel Forest will provide coffee and something for your sweet tooth. Our start time is 9:00am, and we will work until mid-afternoon. From there, some will go for a ride, and others will stay and clean tools. Please sign up at http://www.trailworkers.com/volunteer.cfm so I know how many tools to bring, or email nigel.ray@durect.com if you have any questions. IMBA's rule of thumb is to give 20/20/20 each year, referring to local member dues, national member dues, and hours in the field making the outdoors a better experience for everyone. This is your last opportunity this spring to add a few hours toward completing your annual trailwork requirements. Nigel Ray and Charles Jalgunas Stewards of Soquel Forest
