Soquel Demonstration Forest Trailwork -- Sunday, December 4

(Mailing List Information, including unsubscription instructions are
located at the end of this message)

Trailworkers,

It looks like the rainy season is upon us and that means its time to put energy into the trails we have been enjoying all year. This Sunday, December 4 we will be continuing our maintanance and trail building effort in the Soquel Demonstration Forest with projects on the Ridge trail and, possibly, Braile aimed at improving drainage, addressing unsustainable "problem" sections, and enhancing your trail experience. Given the recent rains, soil conditions should be ideal for these projects.

We are meeting at the parking lot on Highland, across the steel bridge at 8:30 AM on Sunday, December 4th. Depending on conditions, trailworkers may find it easiest to ride to the work site. Bring your bike if you want to ride. Bob trailers will be provided. If weather conditions are not conducive to riding into the forest, or if you prefer to walk, you can hike in to the work site.

You should bring long pants and sleeves, plenty of water, and lunch or a snack you can carry with you on the trail, and hiking shoes/boots. I will bring work gloves to loan if you have none. If you are planning on riding into the site, bring ride gear. The Stewards of Soquel Forest will provide coffee and something for your sweet tooth. Our start time is 9:00am, and we will work until mid-afternoon. From there, some will go for a ride, and others will stay and clean tools.

Please sign up at http://www.trailworkers.com/volunteer.cfm so we know how many tools to bring, or email nigel.ray@durect.com if you have any questions.

IMBA's rule of thumb is to give 20/20/20 each year, referring to local member dues, national member dues, and hours in the field making the outdoors a better experience for everyone. This is an excellent opportunity to add a few hours toward completing your annual trailwork requirements.
