Soquel Demonstration Forest Trailwork -- Sunday, January 8th

(Mailing List Information, including unsubscription instructions are
located at the end of this message)

Trailworkers,

The recent high wind and rain have taken a toll on the trails in the Soquel Demonstration Forest, hence it is important that we continue our trail maintenance efforts to ensure that they remain rideable year round. This Sunday, January 8th, we will be completing maintenance efforts on the Braile trail and removing deadfalls.

We are meeting at the parking lot on Highland, across the steel bridge at 8:30 AM on Sunday, January 8th. Given the wet conditions, we will likely hike into the work site. However, trailworkers may want to ride after the work day, so feel free to bring your bike.

You should bring long pants and sleeves, plenty of water, and lunch or a snack you can carry with you on the trail, and hiking shoes/boots. I will bring work gloves to loan if you have none. If you are planning on riding into the site, bring ride gear. The Stewards of Soquel Forest will provide coffee and something for your sweet tooth. Our start time is 9:00am, and we will work until mid-afternoon. From there, some will go for a ride, and others will stay and clean tools.

Please sign up at http://www.trailworkers.com/volunteer.cfm so we know how many tools to bring, or email nigel.ray@durect.com if you have any questions.

IMBA's rule of thumb is to give 20/20/20 each year, referring to local member dues, national member dues, and hours in the field making the outdoors a better experience for everyone. This is an excellent opportunity to add a few hours toward completing your annual trailwork requirements.
