(Mailing List Information, including unsubscription instructions are located at the end of this message) Trailworkers, This Sunday, February 5th is an excellent time to contribute to the annual volunteer trailwork effort in the Soquel Demonstration Forest. Reasons for you to participate include: 1. We have an excellent project planned. We anticipate building some new trail to replace part of Sawpit. This is your chance to provide input to a section of trail that you will be enjoying for years to come. 2. Specialized will be present and will allow Trailworkers to demo various bikes in their new 2006 line including the 2006 Enduro and 2006 Stumpjumper. Availability of these bikes is first come, first served so sign up now at trailworkers.com. If you have specific requests regarding model and size, sign up and then email your request to me and I'll pass it along to Specialized. 3. Trailwork is excellent cross training for the winter months. 4. Its a great opportunity to give back to the trails you have been enjoying all summer. We are meeting at the parking lot on Highland, across the steel bridge at 8:30 AM on Sunday, February 5th. Depending on conditions, trailworkers may find it easiest to ride to the work site. Bring your bike if you want to ride. Bob trailers will be provided. If weather conditions are not conducive to riding into the forest, or if you prefer to walk, you can hike in to the work site. You should bring long pants and sleeves, plenty of water, and lunch or a snack you can carry with you on the trail, and hiking shoes/boots. I will bring work gloves to loan if you have none. If you are planning on riding into the site, bring ride gear. The Stewards of Soquel Forest will provide coffee and something for your sweet tooth. Our start time is 9:00am, and we will work until mid-afternoon. From there, some will go for a ride, and others will stay and clean tools. Please sign up at http://www.trailworkers.com/volunteer.cfm so we know how many tools to bring, or email nigel.ray@durect.com if you have any questions. IMBA's rule of thumb is to give 20/20/20 each year, referring to local member dues, national member dues, and hours in the field making the outdoors a better experience for everyone. This is an excellent opportunity to add a few hours toward completing your annual trailwork requirements. Nigel Ray and Charles Jalgunas Stewards of Soquel Forest
