A Couple Rides and a Movie

This week we have our usual ride, at an unusual time, a movie premier in the City, and a call out for a certain someone that wants to get several really long rides in, consecutively.

The Unusual Ride


This week the Usual Ride will be Unusual; Charles will be leading it as Berry is on the non bike related IR. Other than that it will be the usual fun in the dirt. We will also be leading a Slow Ride, ride leader yet to be determined, tho Julie is likely. Both rides leave Passion promptly at 6:30, and we'll all head up to Water Dog & sample the delights of the Dog, while leaving our hormones at home. The ride will be casual, social and above all, FUN. Rehydration therapy post ride in the Lounge. Come on out!

Transrockies Team Member Needed

A friend of the shop has targeted the Trans Rockies race in British Columbia this August http://www.transrockies.com/, and is looking for a partner to share the experience with. Could be male or female, experienced with endurance races or not. The most important thing is to be motivated to give it a great effort. He is racing the sport class and wants to take the occasional picture while enjoying the scenery. His goal is to place in the top half of his category. Give me a shout if you are interested, and I'll put you in touch with him.

Between the Tape SF Dirtlab Premier

Mitch Monroe is inviting you guys to the SF Premiere of Between the Tape because he knows you like bikes, he knows you like beer, and because he needs your support. Mitch's fledgling organization SF DIRTLAB http://www.sfdirtlab.com/ is presenting the video Between the Tape at the Sports Basement in the Presidio. All movie goers get 10% the already lowest prices on really great gear...if you don't know about this place, it's basically the poor man's REI. It's great stuff at can't beat prices.

Festivities begin this Friday at 6pm...movie at 7:30 sharp. The video is sort of a documentary of the 2006 UCI Downhill World Cup Series. It's called between the tape for a couple of reasons: it all happens between the course tape, and it gives you a little deeper insight into the lives of world cup DH racers. It was made by our buddy Clay Porter, a local SF fool. It costs 5 bucks to see the movie or a 10 dollar store receipt. In addition, 10% of the nights sales go to support my race team SF DIRTLAB. I'd love to see you if you can make it. Please pass this along to anyone you think might be interested, with a little personal pump, letting them know our buddy Mitch is putting this thing on.
