The Weekly Wednesday Waterdog Wride is forecast to occur between two minor fronts that will pass through the Bay Area. NWS predicts that we should get a bit of rain tonight, then enough daytime dryness to make the trails up at Waterdog nice and tacky. See below for the geeky details.

The ride group will be gathering here at Passion for a 5:30 departure to head out to the singletrack. Twilight will shut it all down around 6:45. Afterwards we promise good eats, with a bit of mustard on some tasty processed protein products off the grille. And the usual thirst slaking selection of beverages for all.

.DISCUSSION...SATL IMAGERY INDC THAT THE COLD FRONT IS APPROACHING THE COAST. ONLY SANTA ROSA HAS HAD A FEW SPRINKLES THIS AFTN. THE COLD FRONT IS VERY WELL DEFINED ON VIS IMAGERY...WITH A COLD POOL CENTERED NEAR 40/132. THE TROUGH WILL BEGIN TO LIFT TO THE NORTHEAST AS A VORT MAX ROUNDS THE BASE OF THE TROUGH.

RAIN WILL SPREAD SOUTH TONIGHT ACROSS THE DISTRICT AS THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH. HAVEN`T MENTIONED THUNDER...BUT IT WOULD NOT BE OUT OF THE QUESTION TO HAVE A LIGHTNING STRIKE WITH SUCH A STRONG FRONT. WINDS WILL BE GUSTY WITH THE FRONT...BUT NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR AN ADVISORY. THE FRONT WILL PASS ACROSS THE DISTRICT LATE TONIGHT WITH A FEW LINGERING SHOWERS WEDNESDAY MORNING. BRIEF RIDGING WEDNESDAY AFTN AND THURSDAY BEFORE THE NEXT SYSTEM BARRELS TO THE COAST...NOW SEEN ON WV IMAGERY PASSING SOUTH OF THE ALEUTIANS. THERE IS A TIMING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NAM AND GFS...BUT EXPECT RAIN WILL DEVELOP IN THE NORTH BAY THURSDAY NIGHT SPREADING ACROSS THE DISTRICT FRIDAY.

RIDGING BUILDS BACK IN FOR THE WEEKEND FOR MAINLY DRY WEATHER...WITH TEMPS NEAR NORMAL. MODELS AGREE IN BRINGING ANOTHER DEEP LONG WAVE TROUGH TO THE COAST NEXT MONDAY AND TUESDAY.
