Friday Hookey Ride: 2pm to Beer-Thirty ROMP Holiday Party November 30 Passion Community Calendar is online Ibis Mojo frame in stock
Friday Hookey Ride 2pm to Beer Thirty Well, we are starting to adjust to the reduced daylight hours now that daylight saving time has ended. But that doesn’t mean we won’t be riding on weekdays. Nope, Peter has volunteered to head up a Gitcha/Gotcha Pink Slip Hookey Ride this Friday.
Are you one of the lucky (or maybe not so) unemployed? OK, so you Gotcha pink slip already. You ready to sing along with Johnny Paycheck? Well, then maybe you could Gitcha pink slip. Or maybe you have some PTO and can slip out a little early? Doesn’t matter, we won’t ask questions. Here’s Peter’s Ride Announcement:
Hookey ride - Friday November 16 at 2:00 Those who are underemployed, have Fridays off, feel the urge to call in sick, or for whatever reason can make it, come join Peter for a loop or two in Waterdog on Friday afternoon. Be ready to ride at the shop at 2:00pm, and we will bike from there to the park. The ride will end in the lounge at exactly beer-thirty. Rain on Friday, or heavy rain on Thursday, will cancel the ride. Although, we don't think it's gonna rain.
ROMP Holiday Party November 30 Meet Joe Breeze – designer of the world’s first mountain bike -- & join us for our annual ROMP holiday festivities on Friday night, November 30th, for a fun & entertaining evening.
Many attendees bring their spouse, partner, cycling friends, dad, mom & children to this annual Mountain Bikers Party. Non ROMP members & folks new to cycling are highly encouraged to join us!
For the highlight of the evening: Joe Breeze, producer of Breezer transportation bikes, will give an illustrated presentation entitled, “What’s So Great About Bikes?”, spanning the history and future of what he calls “the most efficient tool of transport ever devised.” No doubt, Joe will include many first-hand accounts of being a nationally ranked Category 1 road racer, a pioneer of mountain biking (he built the first modern mountain bikes in 1977), and an advocate for everyday riding as tonic for great living. Joe was recently named among the top 25 most influential people in American bicycle history, and is featured in the recently released film “Klunkerz” about the birth of mountain biking. Click below for more details.
The ROMP Holiday Party is hosted by Responsible Organized Mountain Pedalers, and is on Friday night, November 30th, 2007 starting at 6:00pm in the banquet room at Michael's Restaurant at 2960 North Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View.
Cost is $25 per person & $20 for 12 yrs or under. The cost covers appetizers & a full dinner buffet. A cash bar will be open. Past years’ party attire has ranged from jeans to the holiday finest.
To attend, RSVP by completing the form at www.romp.org, and pay for your meal by check or paypal (instructions on the ROMP webpage).
We are delighted to have Joe. His show gets rolling around 8:30pm. Anyone can learn more about Joe Breeze at the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame (he's a 1988 charter inductee), or hear him speak at our annual ROMP holiday party!
For more information about Joe Breeze check out his website BreezerBikes.com
You can also visit the Klunkerz website for info on his starring role in this great documentary of the history of mountain biking.
