(Mailing List Information, including unsubscription instructions are located at the end of this message) This Saturday April 12th we have a great trailwork day planned. The trails in the Demo forest are so popular that they deserve some good loving to keep them in good shape. Trees fall down, branches block the trails, and dirt clogs up drains and make the trail stay muddy when it should be tacky. Because of all this we have regularly scheduled trail work days in the Demo Forest. Our target this Saturday is going to be improving the trail surface on ridge trail and cutting back branches and bushes that are encroaching into the trail. Everyone likes to ride trails with clear site lines and without having to worry about branches hitting you on the arms or legs so please consider coming out to help. We will also work on repairing drain dips that have filled with silt and on fixing up any technical features that we see on the side of the trails that may be in bad shape. Here is a link to one of the trailwork day reports from this year showing an example of the work we do http://www.trailworkers.com/newsdetails.cfm?NewsID=241 You can sign up here is you want to attend http://www.trailworkers.com/volunteer.cfm And for those that read this far check out the sweet discount that Trailhead Cyclery is offering to trailworkers. http://trailheadcyclery.com/TrailNews1/twcoupon.html Our work day will run from 9am till about 2pm or whenever people get tired. We will be meeting at the CDF office on Old San Jose rd at about 8:45 for coffee and snacks and sign ups. We will depart the CDF office in a convoy and cross through the privately owned rock quarry so please be on time. Stragglers will find nothing but a locked gate. If you need to arrive late or leave early please expect to ride your bike to the work site and meet us where we will have tools waiting for you. I can coordinate this with volunteers on a one on one basis if you email me.
