What's new and cool:

Burly new rack from Sportworks
Sportworks makes the easiest-to-use bike racks out there. Period. They take about five seconds to load; just hoist your entire bike onto the tray then lock down the wheel clamp. Their new model, the T2, is extra burly to carry bikes up to 60 pounds. With a 1 1/4-inch hitch you can haul two big rigs, and with a 2-inch hitch you can carry four monsters. The T2 handles tires up to three inches wide, and its new anti-wobble feature keeps everything ship-shape. Call us or come on by, and we'll make sure we have one for you. 408-369-9666

Happy Holidays good and naughty Trail Head riders!!!
We want to thank all of you for your support this year! It has been amazing. New friends, new stories, old friends, old lies, good beer, better trails, and the purchases you all made are the reason we are able to do what we do. And for that, we are all very grateful.

We are in the last days of the year and that means sweet deals at Trail Head Cyclery. I've got more frames than Aaron Brothers, and they should be ridden soon at the prices I've got listed. Like an Enduro frame for $599 with Fox's ITCH shock. And my left over Sidi shoes are $71 off, not the stinky ones in my garage, these are fresh. All 2004 bikes are marked WAY DOWN. Even my employees are shocked at some of these prices. We are super stocked for the Big Day with ton's of bikes for the little rippers in your family. Do them a favor and tempt them out of the house with a new bike, cooler and lighter than anything we could have dreamed of Christmas Eve. As for our current dreams, they can be made true and you can save lots of cash while your at it!

You are all the most important people to Trail Head Cyclery, thank you all for such an amazing 2004. On behalf of our entire crew, we wish you all more riding days, tacky single-track, and flow for 2005.

- Lars & John Thomsen, Charles Jalgunas, Rudy Quann, Ford Young, Nick Blaauw, Shawn Siebe, John Cannon, Mark "Pooky" Jacobs and Adam "Young Angus" Abella

Snow slalom!
While we enjoy perfectly tacky soil here in the Santa Cruz Mountains, our guy Lee in Boulder, CO has been making his own fun.

Easy riding, tough politics
This season has graced us with some of the best riding conditions, and some of the worst political... I'm talking about the closure of Nisene Marks. If you have not heard of this atrocity yet, look below for the whole story. We've been buy'n Fox Save the Trail shirts, sending letters and directing some contributions to the appeal costs of this Sierra Clubber's lawsuit. And that is good. This is a wake up call for all of us to be more of a presence in park matters.

Now is another chance for us to be heard! Mid Pen has posted a survey on their site for us to fill out. Do this now and forward it to all of your riding buds. Future trail access depends on rider input. We MUST participate or we will be forgotten and shunned... Please fill out the current user survey on Midpen's web site.

Look for the "take the 2004 user survey" link just below the Welcome to Your Open Space! banner.

We suggested more multi-use trails, including bikes and dogs:)

Video: Inside the amazing Yeti 303
The new Yeti downhill frame uses rails instead of pivots, allowing the race-tuned suspension to suck up harsh hits while staying neutral to pedaling and braking forces. How did those clever Coloradans do it? Check out this video!

Save Nisene Marks State Park
Very bad things are happening to one of our favorite riding spots and, by extension, its neighbor the Soquel Demonstration Forest. A recent court ruling bans bikes in Nisene Marks, including on the Aptos Creek Fire Road that climbs to the top of the Demo and allows us to loop up the road then down Ridge and other fine trails. This is no joke. We need your help!

For more info about the situation check out this story on the ROMP site.

Please write a letter or email to the California Department of Parks and Recreation asking them to appeal the court ruling that blocks bicycle access to Nisene Marks trails. You'll find addresses and a form letter on Fox Racing Shox's Free The Trail page. When you buy a $10 Free The Trail shirt, all profits help fight this case. Buy a dang shirt. Write a letter. This is serious!

We'll have the Free The Trail shirts in the shop by Saturday, Nov. 13.

In case you can't get onto the Fox site, here are the addresses for your letter:

Whistler madness
Lars flew north to help a teamate in the 24 Hours of Adrenalin Solo World Championships, and he got the Extended Play on Whistler's DH runs while he was there.
