Soquel Demonstration Forest Trailwork, November 28th

(Mailing List Information, including unsubscription instructions are
located at the end of this message)

Trailworkers,

On Sunday, November 28th we continue our yearly trail work in the Soquel Demonstration State Forest. We have all been hiking and riding the trails all year and this is our chance to show our appreciation to the California Department of Forestry for being able to share these trails.

We are meeting at the parking lot on Highland, across the steel bridge at 8:30 AM on Sunday, November 28th. Our objective for the day is to complete construction of a new trail alignment that will bypass the steep hike up section at the end of the Ridge Trail. We will shuttle workers from the parking lot on Highland to the bottom of Tractor Trail; workers will then hike in to the work site. Depending on conditions, some trailworkers may skip the shuttle and elect to ride to the trailwork site. Bring your bike if you want to ride. Bob trailers will be provided.

You should bring long pants and sleeves, plenty of water, and lunch or a snack you can carry with you on the trail. I will bring work gloves to loan if you have none. The Stewards of Soquel Forest will provide coffee and something for your sweet tooth. Our start time is 9:00am, and will work until 2:00 or so. From there, some will go for a ride, and others will stay and clean tools.

Please sign up at http://trailworkers.com so I know how many tools to bring, or email nigel.ray@durect.com if you have any questions. Our work schedule for the year has been posted to the Trailworkers website, so if you cannot make this weekend, you should go there and sign up for another day instead.

IMBA's rule of thumb is to give 20/20/20 each year, referring to local member dues, national member dues, and hours in the field making the outdoors a better experience for everyone. This is your opportunity to add a few hours toward completing your annual trailwork requirements.
